Frequently Asked Questions
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing for exercising and good trainers (or dance sneakers if you have them). Bring some water to drink, and you might want to bring a small towel as well!
Do I need to be able to dance?
No. We will learn the steps together and then incorporate them into dance exercise routines. Those who think they have two left feet are very welcome ;-)
Do I have to be really fit?
No. The dances are designed so you can take each one at your own pace. Classes are suitable for all ages and abilities.
If you prefer to take things a little easier, you might want to start with FitSteps FAB, a lighter intensity class. Click here for details.
What if I find the steps hard to follow?
Don't worry if you can't follow all the steps straight away, you will soon pick them up. Just follow what you can, keep moving, relax and enjoy yourself. As long as you are moving, you are working! You'll soon find it gets easier.
Are there any age restrictions?
My classes are for anyone over 16. (Talk to me if you want to bring a younger person with you). There is no upper age limit, there are people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who attend regularly.
Do I need a dance partner?
No, each routine is danced all together as a group, without the need for partners.
However, if you enjoy my FitSteps® classes, you might want to tell your friends!
Who are your classes aimed at?
Everyone! You could be a complete beginner, a keen exerciser looking for a change to your fitness routine, or someone coming back to fitness after a break. Maybe you just enjoy music and like to dance. These classes are for you, come and give it a try.
Do I have to book in advance?
You can just come when you like, there’s no need to let us know in advance. However, if you would like to book online, then please click here. No payment is required at the time of booking.
Do I need to commit to a certain number of weeks?
You don’t have to. Classes are on a pay-as-you-go cash basis.
How much does it cost?
The evening class at Mill Chase is £5.50, the Farnham and Haslemere classes are £6, and classes at Headley are £5. These differences are due to the varying costs of venue hire.
Your first session is half-price wherever you go.
I also offer loyalty cards. Pay for 9 classes, and get your 10th class free! (when used within a 3-month period). This does apply to both PAYG customers, and those who pay in advance. Ask me for details in class.
How long is each class?
Each class is one hour.
